How To Triple Your Fat Burning Workout Results

Do you want to know how to triple your results from your resistance training? Why wouldn’t you?

Properly conducted resistance training can give you startling fat loss results, along with muscle and strength gains.  On top of that, when using the techniques I describe in the Fat Burning Furnace eBook, you’ll also receive “top drawer” cardiovascular health benefits.  And all from 2-3  workouts each week lasting just 15-20 minutes on average.

But, you’ve got to do them right, not like the average resistance trainer is taught these days.  Walk into any fitness center or gym and you’ll see at least half if not more of the exercisers performing their workouts in a less than optimal way…and that’s being kind.

So let’s get right to one of the ways you can triple your resistance training results immediately.  It has to do with how you specifically perform the repetitions.  To better understand this, let’s examine our 3 different strength levels in any resistance exercise.

Take the dumbbell curl exercise for the biceps for example.  In this movement, you begin with the weight down at your sides. You proceed to smoothly and slowly curl the dumbbells up to your shoulders.  This movement trains your positive strength level. You should then pause briefly and contract your biceps at the top of the movement.  This trains your static strength level.

Finally, you would want to lower the dumbbells slowly back to the starting position.  This trains your negative strength level.

Now the problem is that most people don’t even bother with the static or negative strength levels.  They put all of the focus on the “lifting” or positive portion of the movement, while not pausing or contracting sufficiently at the top, and not taking nearly enough time on the negative portion.

In effect they are getting only one third of the benefits that this exercise can give them.  Actually, it’s less than that because the static and negative portions can actually create deeper inroads into your existing strength levels.  This is something you want, as it will lead to greater progress faster assuming you give your body appropriate time to recover.

Why do we care so much about strength?  Outside of the obvious reasons, strength leads to muscle growth, which leads to a faster resting metabolism, which leads to faster fat loss and various other improved health factors that could take up another couple of pages at least ;-) .

In the Fat Burning Furnace eBook & Deluxe Program, I take these concepts to the next level.  Here we are using techniques to maximize your static and negative strength levels in order to push the limits of your lean and healthy genetic potential to the max.  That’s when the real fun begins.

So make sure not to neglect the static and negative strength levels when performing your next resistance training workout. Don’t waste the opportunity to triple your results!

Fast Weight Loss Diet For Teens

With celebrities all losing weight especially teen stars like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Hillary Duff, it is no wonder that teenagers nowadays want to have the slimmest body ever.

And with a hundred and one kinds of the diet programs in the market, dieting is not really that hard especially if you are really dead set on your target weight and losing those extra pounds. It is important though that you look for a kind of diet that will fit your needs and something that will still keep you healthy.

Most of the diet programs in the market may work but getting into the program can be mighty expensive. Unless you have someone like Donald Trump as your father, an ordinary teenager like you would never be able to afford the diet program even if you save your whole monthly allowance. Other programs though that you can afford may not work the same way. If you are not really in need of a crash diet and just need to lose a few pounds, then you can just do your own kind of diet and monitor your own progress.

There is actually no great secret in dieting. The right kind of dieting is composed of two things, balance diet and exercise. Below are some ideas and tips that may help you start the diet program. See what works for you and who knows, you might even be able to invent your own.

Lessen the meat

One way to truly lose weight is to avoid foods that put calories into your weight. This means that you should avoid foods that are rich in fats and carbohydrates. Lessen your intake of red meat such as beef and pork. If you must really have to, eat white meat such as those found in chicken and in turkey.

Go for the fruits

Fruits are healthy foods that provide a balance of nutrients and what is more, it is a good source of fibers that help the digestive system metabolize the foods that we take into our bodies. Fruits are also great sources of vitamins and minerals that will not only keep your body healthy but will also keep your skin and other body functions in tip-top shape.

Eat veggies.

Veggies are foods that are low in caloric content but rich in fibers, vitamins and minerals. Depending on how it is cooked, going on a vegetarian meal once in a while can help you lose those unwanted fats fast.

Exercise routine

The other side of a diet program is the exercise part. It is not enough that you just eat the right kinds of food. Doing this will only prevent you from gaining more weight but will not make a difference in the weight that you have gained before. If you really want to lose weight, diet and exercise goes hand in hand.

Most people think that if they exercise, every now and then, they will already lose weight. This is not the case. In order to really lose weight, it is important that you establish an exercise routine that you will be able to follow through.

Commitment

Without this, nothing will ever come off from your attempt. In losing weight, you really have to want to lose weight. There is no half measure. There is no vacation. Total and absolute commitment is necessary. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.

How To Keep Your Promise To Lose Weight

What’s the most popular New Year’s Resolution of all? It’s the resolution to lose weight, of course!

What’s the one New Year’s Resolution that is most likely to be broken? Again, it’s the resolution to lose weight.

There are dozens of diets available to help you reach your weight loss goal. There are low carb diets, low fat diets, high fibre diets, and liquid meal replacement diets. There are diets in which food is mailed to you each week and diets where you go to meetings each week for tips and encouragement. There are diets in which you combine certain foods each day and diets in which you eat only one type of food per day. No matter what our individual preferences are, there is a diet available that will work with them. The choice is all yours.

But what can we do to stop submarining our sincere desire to shed pounds? Before we ever start we must examine our methods and motives. Why do we want to lose weight? Sometimes we want to lose weight in order to feel better, and sometimes we want to look better. These are both sound reasons, although health certainly takes a priority over looks. Know your motivation. Understand yourself.

How much weight do you need to lose to reach your goal? Ten pounds? Twenty? Fifty or more? Figure out before you ever start what your ultimate goal is. If you have a lot to lose, create smaller goals so that you will feel successful and be motivated to keep up the good work along the way. Lose your first fifteen or twenty pounds and then allow for maintenance for a couple weeks. You won’t be going off your diet, simply practicing the hardest part of any diet. After you have maintained your loss, go back on your diet until you lose another specific block of weight and then do the same thing again. You will need a realistic idea of what it will take to maintain your weight loss. Practicing this technique will prepare you for the end of the diet. You won’t be catapulted into the non-diet world with a shock, unable to handle the new choices you will suddenly have.

Before you ever start on your weight loss journey, choose the activities you will incorporate into your life to take the place of boredom eating. This is your chance to fulfill other resolutions by learning to dance or paint or skate.

When you do begin your diet, make sure it is one that is approved by your doctor. Each one of us has unique physical and nutritional needs. Embarking on a diet that will undermine a condition or existing illness won’t result in reaching our goal. Be informed and be prepared. Know why you are dieting and what your specific goals are. Don’t be a statistic again this year. Lose your weight successfully so that you never have to make a futile resolution again!

Crushing Carbs Without Atkins

A few years ago, health fanatics were touting the benefits of cutting carbohydrates. That meant breakfast without cereal, Asian cuisine without rice and burgers without buns. Pasta? Forget it.

Now whole grains and fruits – especially organic – are at the top of the list. That said, people still want to lose weight; they are just looking for new ways to do so.

Some dieters abandoned Atkins and other low-carb diets because they ended up eating the same things over and over. Others could not stay on it because they had to severely limit their favorite foods.

But many couldn’t stay on their low-carb diets for another reason: They crave sugar. Sugar and high-glycemic foods, such as potatoes, white bread and pastas made from white flour, are habit-forming because they evoke cravings and create cyclic demand on glucose and insulin production in the body. This demand creates both physical and psychological addictions.

So as people have abandoned low-carb foods that typically do not trigger food addiction responses, they are back into the cycle and susceptible to gaining back their weight.

Innovative Technologies Corporation of America developed a tea called Carb Crusher that, when consumed with a sensible diet and exercise program, can assist in the reduction of the body’s absorption of calories and carbohydrates in the digestive and hepatic (liver) systems.

The key ingredient in Carb Crusher is GCA, an extract made from unroasted green coffee beans. Specifically, GCA reduces the amount of carbohydrates that get absorbed by inhibiting the active transport of sugar into the body. Even when you’re not eating, GCA is still working to inhibit sugar being released from the body’s glycogen stores (found in the liver and muscles). This forces the body to initiate the burning of fat sooner as an energy source. And since there is no added caffeine or stimulants, you can drink Carb Crusher on an empty stomach or at night.

A Schools Involvement In Teen Weight Loss

If you want to help your children lose weight, some changes have to be made. It is becoming more often that we read and hear a lot about the need to lose weight on a daily basis. Now that obesity is being recognized as an increasing problem, losing weight, especially in teens has gained a lot more significance.

Overweight kids have been the product of a “fast food” lifestyle that most families has grown accustomed with. Daily consumption of hamburgers and fries along with other add-on have made it easier for teens to gain more weight and at the same time get less of the essential nutrients that their growing body needs. It is becoming an unhealthy trend that needs to be addressed. It is usually up to the parents to take action.

So what is usually the quick and easy answer to help teenagers as well as adults lose weight? The simple combination of diet and exercise of course. Almost everyone is aware that following a healthy diet and regular exercise are keys to losing and maintaining a healthy weight. No new research is required before you can look into the causes of obesity in teenagers. More than just the fast food, it is also the larger portion sizes, or increasing inactivity that are causing more teens to become overweight.

There is not one single thing that they can easily change and make fewer people overweight. It is usually a combination of diet, exercise and other things that is the successful answer to any weight issues. The big concern is more on how to find the motivation to eat healthier and exercise regularly. This is probably the most difficult part of trying to lose weight. But even if one has the proper motivation to start eating healthier and exercising more often, trying to keep it up becomes an even harder task.

In the case of teenage kids, proper motivation may come from going to school each day. An educational institution that practices and preaches a healthy lifestyle would be more than helpful in keeping the weight of teenage and even younger kids in check. Schools can institute major changes in order to provide kids with healthy meals and regular exercise. Small steps such as banning soda and fruit drinks can help a lot.

There are many ways that a school might help kids in general become healthier. One is by providing real daily physical education requirements that can help make kids more active physically, a break from a sedentary lifestyle that they may be accustomed with at home. A school can also help in an effective weight loss program for kids by offering only healthy foods at school meals. Unhealthy foods or snacks should not be offered as an option for kids who don’t want to eat healthy.

Having adequate fitness equipment available to all students can greatly help in motivating kids to become more active. Such equipment should be made available for everyone and not just for those students who are participating in formal sports. Schools can also increase the number of informal sports that kids can play.

This way, kids do not have to be a member of the varsity basketball team in order to enjoy playing basketball at school. Of all of these changes, the program to increase physical education requirements will likely be the most useful in helping kids reach a healthy weight. Such programs can also help them avoid becoming overweight and further help kids build good habits that might stay with them into adulthood.

Weight Loss; Making Exercise Fun

When you are trying to lose weight there is usually a dread of waking up in the morning with the thought of going to the gym to lift weights or jog on the treadmill.  After a hard days work, the gym is one place you don’t even want to think about.  Sometimes, even the thought of exercising at home with your own equipment can be less than desirable.

Sometimes, just trying to get and stay motivated to exercise on a regular basis can be a challenge.  No matter how you look at it, exercise can be downright boring and even tedious at times. But we all know that exercise is a key part of long term weight loss, so to make it a bit less painful I have listed below some ways I use to avoid the act of exercising, although at the end of the day I have had the equivalent of a good workout!

First things first, you should buddy up with a friend. You can challenge each other, help each other out, keep each other motivated and on track, make each other laugh or just make a game out of your exercise programs.

You can also try something different.  If you go to the gym each and every day and use the same  piece of equipment or use the same piece of  equipment at home, you should try mixing things up. Reverse your routine or just change the order of your exercises.

Go to a city park that has playground equipment and use the slide, climb on the monkey bars, do pull- ups, hang from your knees, just let your imagination guide you.  You don’t always need to follow a strict routine, just get out there and have fun losing weight.

An outdoor circuit in the park is also something you can try.  There are some parks that have circuit courses set up with a planned course where all you have to do is walk or jog to each station and then follow the instructions. If there isn’t a  planned course, then you should do a combination of jogging and walking, picking a distance of a  couple hundred feet.  Jog 100 feet then drop and do a couple of pushups, walk the next 100 feet  and then drop to do sit ups.

You can also ride a bike around your neighborhood or hike on a hiking trail.  A walk in the park or around your neighborhood is also a great way to get some exercise.  Doing yoga in the park or on a beach is also a nice and relaxing way to  exercise both your body and your mind.

Playing a competitive sport is also something you can try.  A lot of cities have team activities such as softball, volleyball, tennis, soccer,  and so on.  These types of activities will not  only provide you with good exercise but they will also help you to meet new people as well.

When you exercise, try to picture your muscles getting bigger or the pounds falling off.  Research has shown that if you focus all of your thoughts on the muscles that you are working, they will respond better.

As you can tell, there are plenty of ways you can make exercise more fun and interesting.  You don’t need to follow the same routine day after day, as you can do many other things to get in some exercise.

The important thing is that you should always try to incorporate exercise in any various form into your everyday life and make these habits the kind of habits that will last a lifetime.

Low Fat Granola Bars

If, like me, you are trying to lose weight and have a  healthier diet, some low fat granola bars may be just what you need to add to your varied daily diet. Granola cereal is very good for you and will provide you with plenty of energy. It can be added to many varied and different things within your daily allowances, such as yoghurt or cereal. If you use some for making the easily snackable Granola Bars and save some as cereal you can eat a handful of it when you fancy or when you have a hunger pang. Low fat granola bars will keep you satisfied so you aren’t tempted to eat too much or to eat other foods inbetween meals that are no good for you or your diet!

There are plenty of great tasting recipes you can choose from that contain low fat granola. If you are looking for something to add it to for some variety go online and seek out some of the different recipes. Most of them are very easy to make in very little time. This way you won’t become bored with the low fat granola bars you are consuming on a regular basis.

Some experts claim that low fat granola added to your diet several times a week can help to naturally rev up your metabolism. As a result you will lose more weight and have more muscle. There is still a great deal of research though that needs to be completed to verify this information for accuracy though. In the mean time eating low fat granola isn’t going to harm your overall health.

There are many different places where you can purchase low fat granola bars. Since it is in high demand most grocery stores carry it in different sized packages. Many convenient stores also have low fat granola bars, but it is often more expensive to buy it at these locations. You can also find it at all the different health food stores out there.

You will find low fat granola bars offered by the many name brands that you have come to trust too. Quaker’s and Kellogg’s were amongst the first to market them and their sales of it continue to grow. You may want to try a couple of them so you can decide for yourself which tastes better and which is a better deal for the price.

If you happen to be creative or on a budget, home made Granola Bars can be very tasty and you can add to them what you wish to vary the flavours.
Here is a recipe I use every week and I have seen some great results; mostly the lack of desire to snack during the day!

Granola Breakfast Bar Recipe

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Granola
1/3 cup flax seed meal
2 medium bananas, mashed
1/4 cup canola/rapeseed oil
1/2 cup dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, whatever you want)
2/3 cup chopped nuts (i use pecans but walnuts, peanuts or sunflower seeds will work)
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1-2 tablespoon of honey
1 egg white

Preparation Instructions:

Combine all the dry ingredients and mix well. add mashed bananas,  oil and sweetener (honey) and mix well until blended and mixture is sticky. (This part is messy, but worth it)
(add a small amount of water if mixture isn’t moist enough.)

Shape dough into bars on a greased cookie sheet, making the bars about 1/3 inch thick. I would definitely recommend shaping all the bars at one time, because the longer the dough sits, the stickier it gets.

Bake for 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Enjoy!

Weight Loss Solutions

If you’re overweight and looking for weight loss solutions that work, you need  to take a fresh look at the situation and try a common-sense approach to guide you to victory! There are so many diets promising success. Indeed, if you follow any one of them to the letter, you’ll achieve short-term success. Attaining the long term objective of a real weight loss solution requires you accurately assess your ‘triggers” and make some fundamental changes before embarking on your weight loss solution of choice.

Salt, sugar and food additives contribute much to the overweight condition. If you drink a lot of soda and often partake in junk food snacks, you’ve nailed a large portion of your weight problem. Let’s face it, these “foods” cannot be called nutritious. A weight loss solution that really works must include a radical downsizing of consumption of these products. Yes, they’re convenient, tasty – and fattening! You need to at least cut down on these diet busters.

A weight loss solution that really works includes a change in your perspective. People wanting to lose weight think they must suffer terribly and deny themselves everything.   Absolutely not true! Reorient yourself, and pleasantly discover there are so many foods that are delicious, satisfying, even decadent, yet nutritious, low in calories (gasp!) and slimming. Is this possible, you say?

Indeed it is. The soda freak can slip in a few juices. Juices supply natural sugar and vitamin C. Eliminating mood altering sugars and invigorating your immune system response is a very positive step towards a weight loss solution that works.

Mediterranean cuisine is often lauded for its healthful properties. Did you know you can adopt French, Spanish and Italian dishes in a weight loss solution program? Olive oil is a staple in these cuisines, but contain no cholesterol or trans-fats.

Another staple of Mediterranean cuisine is fish. “Oily” fishes, such as salmon and cod, contain abundant amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are cancer fighting antioxidants.  Use your common sense approach.  A little fancy sauce on that fish won’t hurt your weight loss solution program. Enjoy!

Substitute herbs for salt. Heavily salted foods cause you to retain water. Yet salt brings out the taste!  Herbs accentuate the flavour of food as well as salt.

Get friendly with salads! A salad can be an entire meal, a weight loss solution in a single dish.  One salad can fill you up. To a bowl of freshly cleaned lettuce, add onions, tomatoes, basil, sliced olives, shredded cheese and chunks of chicken or ham. Indulge yourself with the dressing of your choice. Use common sense!

Combine pasta with lean meat or seafood, vegetables and herbs for a satisfying dish, sans excess calories or guilt. Herbs and vegetables worthy of inclusion in your weight loss solution include apples. celery, fennel, figs and watercress.

Alter your current diet seamlessly, enjoying the food you eat while implementing a painless and successful weight loss solution. Go for it! Buon appetit!

Alkaline Ph Diet Cooking Tips

April 30, 2010 by Best Free Weight Loss Tips
Filed under Weight Loss Recipes

Adopting the pH miracle diet way of life means changing your approach to eating and cooking. Many people make the transition easily, but for others the pH miracle diet makes them enter the foreign territory of fresh vegetables and vegetarian protein sources.

There is an endless supply of alkalizing recipes in the pH miracle diet books and online. You will never be out of meal ideas if you take the time to look for new recipes each week. Although at first the meals and methods may be unfamiliar, they will become second nature with practice.

Many people who start out on the pH miracle diet way of eating do not know where to start. Their diets used to consist primarily of packaged foods, meats and other acid forming choices. While its okay to eat these foods occasionally, the vast majority of their recipes and meal choices are now a thing of the past.

This may seem overwhelming at first, but really you only need to find 10 recipes that you like and can make well. That’s really all that most families and individuals use. If you rotate only two or three dinner recipes, you are going to get burnt out on the program really fast. Try a few new recipes each week and build your “portfolio” of alkalizing meals until you have 10 meals that you and your family love to eat.

Look over the list of alkalizing foods, and take note of which foods that you and your family already enjoy. Then try to find more recipes that incorporate those tastes and textures. This will be much easier and enjoyable for your family to adapt to if you start off with foods they already like, than all of a sudden introducing tofu, kale and dandelion root.

One of the first recipes you should try is an alkalizing broth. There are many variations but basically the broth is made from alkalizing vegetables and distilled water. The broth has a lot of necessary minerals and can help restore pH balance to your body. It promotes internal cleansing of all of the tissues and organs of the body. This broth can be used as a basis for more complex soups, or it can be served as a first course before any meal.

Many fans of the pH miracle diet rely on juices to help cleanse their bodies of excess acidity. There are many popular juice recipes and they would be a good addition to your new way of eating. The juices can be consumed as a quick breakfast or a snack sometime throughout the day. Most can be made in a blender, so you don’t need a fancy juicer.

If you have children at home, you may be worried about finding recipes that they will love. There are many children’s vegetarian cookbooks that can be adapted for the alkaline diet by substituting certain vegetables. A lot of tasty fruits like apples, raspberries and strawberries are on the alkaline list. Sweet potatoes, which are a favorite of many children once they try them, are highly alkalizing foods and are good for the winter months. In the summer time, celery and other fresh veggies are a great snack and can be dipped in homemade hummus or a dip made from mayonnaise and lemon juice.

With a little practice and research, making alkalizing meals will become second nature to you and your family.

Getting More Alkaline Into Your Diet

April 29, 2010 by Best Free Weight Loss Tips
Filed under Weight Loss Plans

The pH miracle diet is a revolutionary new way to look at how you eat. The essentials of the diet are to keep the ph balance of food intake at 80% alkaline with 20% acidity. The goal with this diet is to match the ph level of the bloodstream, which runs on the alkaline side. This task can be daunting for many because foods that most people love to indulge themselves on are considered high in acidity. The goal in adding more alkaline into your diet is to identify good sources of alkaline. Creating a comprehensive list of alkaline producing foods will help you make the most of the pH miracle diet.

Alkalizing foods have a tonic effect on the body. By neutralizing the acidity in the bloodstream, alkaline foods act as a “breath of fresh air” to the system regenerating and restoring damaged cells. Diets high in acidic foods cause the body to break down prematurely, the bloodstream carries these “acid bombs” throughout the system wreaking havoc in their wake. By determining what foods have an alkalizing effect on the body, we can incorporate them into our diet in larger amounts, setting the pH levels in the bloodstream to the optimum level. On average, the pH level of human blood is between 7.35 and 7.45; levels 7 and above are considered alkaline.

Vegetables and fruits are the easiest ways to get more alkaline into your diet. Vegetables that are alkalizing are: alfalfa, barley grass, beets, beet greens, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, celery, chard greens, collard greens, cucumber, dandelions, eggplant, garlic, green beans, green peas, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, nightshade veggies, onions, parsnips, peas, peppers, pumpkin, radishes, rutabaga, sea veggies, spinach, sprouts, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, watercress, wheat grass, and wild greens.

Fruits that have an alkalizing effect are: apples, apricots, avocados, bananas, berries, blackberries, cantaloupe, cherries, coconut, currants, dates, figs, grapes, grapefruit, honeydew, lemons, limes, muskmelons, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pears, pineapple, raisins, raspberries, rhubarb, strawberries, tangerines, tomatoes, tropical fruits, and watermelon.

Protein can be a problem when attempting to add more alkaline into your diet. All protein derived from animals is acidic. It is possible to add protein to your diet that will have an alkalizing effect in your bloodstream. Proteins that are alkaline are: almonds, chestnuts, millet, tempeh, tofu, and whey protein powder.

Food is nothing without the spices, herbs and sweeteners that give it that extra bit of character. You can add these alkalizing additions to your culinary efforts to bring your PH levels into balance. Alkalizing condiments are: cinnamon, curry, ginger, mustard, chili pepper, sea salt, stevia, miso, tamari, and all herbs.

Minerals are essential to optimum health. Paying attention to which minerals have alkalizing effects can add the proper balance to your blood pH. Minerals that have an alkalizing effect on the body are: cesium, potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium.

There are other incidentals that can make adding alkaline to your diet even easier. Other ways to add alkaline to your diet are: apple cider vinegar, alkaline antioxidant water, bee pollen, lecithin granules, molasses, probiotic cultures, soured dairy products, green juices, veggie juices, fresh fruit juice, and mineral water.

Knowing which foods and supplements that add alkaline to your pH levels is just the beginning. Implementing them is the next step which takes planning and commitment. After adding these healing foods to your diet you can test your body’s pH levels with a  saliva strip test available at most health food stores. Keeping your pH level between 7 and 8 is the target for good health.

Remember the goal of the pH miracle diet is to have the alkaline intake higher than your acidic intake. This does not mean that you can’t enjoy the foods that are higher in acidity, quite the contrary; the balance of your diet should be geared toward alkaline producing foods. By maintaining a proper pH balance you can ensure that your body is performing at its optimum level.
